Overdraft Protection

Commerce offers two ways for you to obtain Overdraft Protection on your checking account:

  • Checking Plus Overdraft Protection is a transfer from your Commerce credit card
  • Overdraft Transfer is a transfer from another Commerce checking or savings account

Option 1: Checking Plus Overdraft Protection

How it Works:
  • If an overdraft occurs, we’ll automatically cover your account with a Cash Advance from your Commerce Visa® by depositing the funds into your Commerce Bank checking account. View example.
  • You’ll receive a notice of the transfer. Cash Advances are made in increments of $50, up to your available credit limit.
  • The cost of utilizing Checking Plus Overdraft Protection is the Overdraft Cash Advance fee plus interest.
