Chacon Autos

The fast track to finance

Chacon Autos is a third generation family dealership with more than 60 years of experience serving customers in Texas. Father and son duo Gary and Greg Chaney are proud to maintain the family feel of their business — along with Gary’s mother still hard at work right beside them. “It’s been a family affair for quite a long time,” Gary says.

What keeps a family business running for so long? For the Chaneys, the answer is quality customer service. “We’re not just selling cars, we’re starting long-term relationships. And there’s a lot of value in being fair to the customer,” Greg explains. “We believe that what’s good for the customer is good for us so we add value not just at the time of sale, but over three, four, five years.”

By providing the best in quality and affordability, Chacon Autos looks out for their customers for years to come. “We have customers for life, and then their kids and grandkids,” Gary says. “We treat them fairly and are honest and transparent.”

“We’re not just looking for the transaction — we’re looking to establish a long-term relationship,” Greg says. And it was that shared focus on long-term relationship that initially attracted the Chaneys to Commerce Bank. Running a capital-intensive business, the Chaneys were on the search for a banking partner that was willing to go the extra mile to understand their business. “Every business in our industry operates in a slightly different way,” Greg says. “It was important to find a banking partner who would allow us to be flexible and operate in a way that makes sense to us.”

Through its six decades in business, Chacon Autos has expanded to new locations in San Antonio, Houston and more. With that growth came the need for a banking partner that was willing to understand the business and not just put them in a one-size-fits-all mold.

“Just like we invest in learning about our customers, Commerce Bank has taken the time to get to know us and our business,” Greg remarks. “They’ve become our banking partner.”
