Commerce Bank Announces Giller’s Retirement; Drew as CEO

Manhattan, Kan. – Commerce Bank today announced that Tom Giller, Chairman of Commerce Bank in Manhattan, is retiring after a 33-year career with the bank effective October 31, 2017. Shawn Drew has been promoted from Market President of the Manhattan Region to Chief Executive Officer of the Manhattan Region effective November 1, 2017.

Giller first joined Commerce Bank in 1984. In his tenure as the leader of banking operations, Giller directed the productivity, management and delivery of financial services for three Commerce Bank locations in Manhattan. He is on several advisory boards serving Manhattan and the region. Giller will remain on the Commerce Bank Board of Directors for the Manhattan region until his terms ends in April 2018.

Drew has been with Commerce Bank since 1998 and joined the Manhattan team in October 2016. In his role as Market President, Drew served as the Commercial Division Manager in the Manhattan market and was charged with growing the commercial portfolio. As CEO, Drew will continue to lead and develop the commercial portfolio for the Manhattan market and will also expand his leadership to other divisions of the bank, including Retail banking.
