Pittsburg State University’s Kelce College of Business Receives Donation From Commerce Bank

Pittsburg – Brian Sutton, community president, Commerce Bank, Pittsburg, and Jeff Elliott, Vice President and Business Banking Team Leader, Commerce Bank, Pittsburg, presented officials from Pittsburg State University with a check from the Commerce Bancshares Foundation to benefit the renovation and expansion plan of the Kelce College of Business. The check represents a commitment to donate $50,000 over the next 6 years. Plans for the building include spacious and flexible classrooms, team rooms for student collaboration, meeting spaces for student organizations along with additional faculty offices and departmental spaces.

President Steve Scott said the project is a key component of the university’s commitment to innovation and academic excellence. “Commerce Bank’s support of the renovation and expansion plan will help transform a dated facility into a world-class business center that will serve the university well into the foreseeable future,” said Scott. “We are passionate about and committed to building facilities that promote academic innovation, and that’s exactly what we’re doing with this Kelce project.”

The Kelce College of Business is consistently listed in the world’s top five percent of business colleges. Sutton commented during the presentation, “We take great pride in supporting Pittsburg State and being a part of this worthwhile project that provides greater opportunities for learning.”
