Matt Farris joins Commerce Trust Company

Tulsa native and attorney will lead operations for Oklahoma

Matt Farris TULSA, Okla.Commerce Trust Company welcomes Matt Farris as senior vice president and market executive to lead private client services in the state of Oklahoma. In this role, Farris will lead a team of professionals providing wealth management, financial planning, trust and private banking services for the company.

Prior to joining Commerce Trust Company, Farris practiced law as a private attorney in Tulsa, most recently with Rogers & Bell, PLLC, where he specialized in estate planning, probate and trust administration, and related litigation. Through his estate planning and probate/trust administration practice, Farris also has seven years of experience applicable to all areas of charitable trust administration, including working with and for the trustees, investment advisors and charitable beneficiaries.

While practicing law in Tulsa for the past 13 years, Farris has served on the Tulsa County Bar Association’s (TCBA) Board of Directors since 2012. In 2016, Farris was elected as TCBA president, and currently serves the association as its immediate past president. During this time, Farris also served on the Tulsa County Bar Foundation’s Board of Directors, the Tulsa Estate Planning Forum’s Board of Directors, the Holland Hall Board of Trustees, the Eisenhower International School Foundation’s Board of Directors, and the University of Tulsa College of Law Alumni Association’s Board or Directors. He was named the University of Tulsa College of Law’s Outstanding Junior Alumnus in 2013.

Farris earned his law degree from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 2005 and he earned a bachelor degree in Finance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, graduating cum laude.

Matt is a member of the Tulsa County Bar Association, the Oklahoma Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Tulsa Estate Planning Forum and the Tulsa Title and Probate Lawyers Association. He is also a graduate of Leadership Tulsa Class 45.
