Commerce Bank Named One of St. Louis’ Best Places to Work

St. Louis, MO – Commerce Bank has been named one of the top three best places to work in St. Louis among companies with 1,000 or more employees by the St. Louis Business Journal. Commerce was selected from more than 200 nominations in this category.

The St. Louis Business Journal’s “Best Places to Work” program recognizes companies where opinions are valued, culture is fostered and employees are positively engaged. In partnership with the employee engagement software company Quantum Workplace, the St. Louis Business Journal evaluated employers based on employee responses to survey questions that explore communication and resources, individual needs, manager efficacy, personal engagement, team dynamics and trust in leadership.

“It is an honor to be recognized as a top employer in this category by the St. Louis Business Journal. This recognition is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our team members. At Commerce, we strive for excellence in fostering a positive and inclusive culture and ensuring our team members feel supported, committed to the organization and fully enabled to serve our customers,” said John Kemper, President and Chief Executive Officer, Commerce Bancshares. “Our team is aligned in our desire to sustain our culture, hold ourselves to the highest standards for customer service and deliver strong results for many years to come.”

In 2018, Commerce’s internal employee engagement survey results reflected continued high engagement, with scores that exceeded national averages for high-performing companies, as assessed by Korn Ferry Hay Group.

With more than 150 years of experience, Commerce offers a super-community banking experience that blends large bank products and services with local knowledge and high-touch customer experience. The company’s focus on local markets is supported by regional advisory boards comprised of local business professionals and community representatives who assist Commerce in responding to local banking needs. Team members are encouraged to take an active role in the community, engaging in activities such as food drives or blood drives and serving local organizations through various volunteer efforts.
