Forbes Names Commerce Bank as One of Missouri’s Best Employers

St. Louis, MO – In a recent ranking published by Forbes, Commerce Bank has been named one of the best employers in the state of Missouri. Commerce ranked second among banks and 37th overall among employers that operate in Missouri. The 2019 rankings were created in partnership with market research company Statista and represent Forbes’ first published list of America’s best employers by state.

This recognition marks the fourth time in 2019 Commerce Bank has been included on a Forbes list. Commerce was the top-ranked Missouri-based bank on Forbes’ America’s Best Banks 2019link opens in a new window list — one of the most respected lists in the industry — which ranks the 100 largest publicly traded banks and thrifts based on growth, credit quality, efficiency and profitability. Commerce was also named among the World’s Best Banks link to Commerce Bank article page by Forbes and, for the third consecutive year, was included on the 2019 America’s Best Midsize Employers link to Commerce Bank article page list.

“Being named a top employer in Missouri is a testament to the exceptionally strong culture we’ve built and continue to grow,” said John Kemper, Commerce Bank’s president and chief executive officer. “At Commerce, we are committed to creating an engaging and collaborative workplace where teams can do their best work to help our customers focus on what matters most. Our people and culture are the foundation to this success, and we are proud to be recognized as a best-in-state employer.”

To determine the list, Statista surveyed 80,000 Americans working for businesses with at least 500 employees. All surveys were anonymous, allowing participants to openly share their opinions. The respondents were asked to rate, on a scale of zero to 10, how likely they would be to recommend their employer to others. Statista then asked respondents to nominate organizations in industries outside their own. The number of businesses ranked in each state was dependent on the number of qualifying employers and the size of the state’s workforce.
