Commerce Bank Expands St. Louis Headquarter Office, Reinvests in Clayton Community

Commerce Bank Tower to provide additional Class-A office space

St. Louis, MO – Robert Holmes, Chairman and CEO of Commerce Bank of St. Louis, shared additional details today around Commerce’s new Clayton office space, officially named Commerce Bank Tower.

Commerce has been working with US Capital Development on their two-building complex, Forsyth Pointe, a one-million square-foot premier office development in downtown Clayton that broke ground in March. Commerce owns the development’s east building, Commerce Bank Tower, and will occupy a portion of the office space. Husch Blackwell has recently signed a lease agreement and is committed to taking on between 100,000 and 120,000 square feet of space in Commerce Bank Tower.

“Commerce has called Clayton its corporate home since the early 1980s. Commerce Bank Tower will provide us the ability to grow and expand in the future, as well as secure our presence in Clayton for decades to come,” said Holmes. “We look forward to serving our customers and communities in this state-of-the-art space and providing our team members with a new, vibrant work environment in the heart of Clayton.”

Commerce Bank Tower is a 10-story office building with more than 250,000 square feet on top of a seven-story garage located at the corner of Forsyth Boulevard and Meramec Avenue. 6,500 square feet of retail space is available on the ground level of the building. The 1,200-car parking garage offers electric car charging stations and bike racks. There is a one-acre garden terrace on top of the garage between the two towers that will accommodate meetings, lunch and public and private events. The terrace will also house the 7,500 square foot fitness facility for tenants. Commerce Bank Tower is being designed to meet LEED Silver rating.

Chuck Kim, Executive Vice President and CFO of Commerce Bank said, “Commerce is pleased to welcome Husch Blackwell as a tenant in the new Commerce Bank Tower. The building offers Class-A amenities that will provide for an exceptional work environment for Husch Blackwell, Commerce and future tenants. We’re proud to work with Pam Hinds and John Sheahan of the NAI Desco/Balke Brown co-brokerage partnership as our exclusive leasing brokers for Commerce Bank Tower.”

More than 50,000 square feet of office space is available for lease in the Commerce Bank Tower. Construction is well underway and on track for completion in Q4 2021, with tenant occupancy occurring shortly thereafter.
