Doug Neff Named to Biz 417’s Annual List of Most Powerful and Influential Business Leaders in Southwest Missouri

Douglas NeffSpringfield, MO – Doug Neff, Commerce Bank’s Southwest Missouri region chairman and CEO, has been named to Biz 417’s Biz 100 2020 list for the fifth consecutive year. Neff moved to Springfield seven years ago to assume his current leadership role where he is responsible for overseeing Commerce’s southwest market. Neff also serves on the Executive Management Committee of Commerce Bancshares and, as Director of Community Market Strategy, is responsible for facilitating collaboration and communication across the Bank’s community market footprint.

Biz 417 describes the business leaders recognized on their annual list as “…the titans of their industries, and they are moving the region forward in more ways than one.” This is the fifth publication of the list, of which Neff has been named to each year. Neff is a past chair of the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce and was president of the board of directors for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield. He continues his community involvement as a board member of the Springfield Business Development Corporation and serves on the Foundation Board for Ozarks Technical Community College. Neff is also actively involved in Commerce Bank’s diversity, equity and inclusion priorities, serving as the executive sponsor for VIBE, the company’s employee resource group promoting the advancement, retention and recruitment of multicultural and diverse individuals. Neff graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Arts in finance and a minor in economics and attended the Prochnow Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin.

“This year, and always, Doug continues to bring his best self to his customers, community and team members. He is a true leader and a valuable asset to the Commerce team and the greater Southwest Missouri region,” said Bob Holmes, Executive Vice President, Commerce Bancshares, Inc. “We congratulate Doug on this recognition and the commitment and outstanding leadership he demonstrates every day.”

Biz 100 honorees are selected by Biz 417’s editors, publishers and advisory board members. The publication evaluates current and prospective leaders based on their individual business success, impact on the local business community and their community involvement in the current year. The selection team seeks people who are truly moving the needle in the areas outlined above. For more information on the methodology and to view the complete list, visit the story here.
