James Weekley Named to Peoria Magazine’s 40 Leaders Under Forty Class of 2020

James WeekleyPeoria, IL – James Weekley, vice president, commercial banking, has been named to Peoria Magazine’s 2020 40 Leaders Under Forty. The award is an annual celebration of young leadership in Greater Peoria. Weekley was selected among more than 100 nominations and will be recognized alongside the other 2020 honorees at a special virtual event on Thursday, October 29.

Weekley is responsible for commercial banking business development efforts and managing new and existing relationships throughout the central Illinois market. His knowledge and experience spans across a variety of industries. Weekley also brings deep expertise in the area of franchise financing, credit analysis and payment solutions.

“James is a strategic, thoughtful leader and experienced commercial banker who works hard to offer solutions that provide cost savings and greater efficiencies for his customers. He has made significant contributions throughout his time at Commerce and in the Peoria area,” said Jon Williams, President of the Bank’s Peoria market. “This recognition is a testament to his leadership, and on behalf of the organization, we congratulate James on this accolade.”

Weekley plays an active role in the community through volunteerism with several local organizations including Heart of Illinois United Way and Rebuilding Together. He also serves as vice president of the board of directors for HULT Center for Healthy Living and is a graduate of the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce’s Community Leadership School. Weekley is also a member of Commerce Bank’s 2020 leadership development program. He graduated with a bachelor of science in business administration and marketing from Illinois State University and received his MBA from Bradley University.
