Bob Hammerschmidt transitions to the Commerce Trust Company

Springfield, MO – Doug Neff, chairman and CEO, Commerce Bank, Southwest region, announced that Bob Hammerschmidt has transitioned to the Commerce Trust Company as chairman, Commerce Trust Company. After 33 years of work for Commerce, he transitioned June 25th to focus on developing new relationships for Commerce Trust Company throughout the Southwest Region.

Hammerschmidt joined the Commerce organization in 1988 in Columbia, Missouri, then moved to Springfield in 1998. As a veteran in the financial industry, Hammerschmidt’s reputation as a solid banker will continue as he works closely with the Commerce Trust Company team to help deliver their exceptional comprehensive wealth solutions.

A strong advocate of community service, Hammerschmidt’s current involvements included: chairman, Mercy Health System Springfield; chairman Southeast Rotary membership development committee; treasurer Rotary Club of Springfield Southeast Endowment, Inc., board of directors of the Ozark Trails Council endowment, board member for the Springfield Symphony Society and co-chair of the 2021 Compassion Campaign for the Council of Churches of the Ozarks.
