Commerce Bank Named One of the World's Best Banks by Forbes

St. Louis, MO – For the third year running, Commerce Bank has been included on Forbes’ list of the World’s Best Banks 2021. Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to produce the list — surveying more than 43,000 customers around the globe for their opinions on their current and former banking relationships. Banks were rated on general satisfaction and key attributes like trust, terms and conditions, digital services, customer service and financial advice.

Commerce Bank is one of only 75 banks in the United States to be recognized on the list, which includes 500 banks from 28 countries around the world. This marks the third time Commerce has been included on a Forbes best banks list in 2021.

“We are honored to be named among Forbes’ Worlds’ Best Banks, and this recognition is particularly meaningful as it’s based on customer feedback. In a trying year, the Commerce team forged ahead to build innovative solutions, expand our digital capabilities and help our customers navigate the pandemic,” said John Kemper, President and Chief Executive Officer, Commerce Bancshares, Inc. “This distinction is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the Commerce team and our unwavering commitment to our customers.”

This year’s list includes a record number of award winners, reflecting consumers’ increasing confidence in banks. More than 500 banks worldwide were recognized among the World’s Best Banks. The United States led the way with 75 banks receiving awards, followed by Japan at 50 banks. Forbes added five new countries to the study—Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia and Singapore—bringing total markets addressed by the list to 28.
