Forbes Names Commerce Bank One of America's Best Banks for Twelfth Consecutive Year

Forbes 2021 Best Banks in America

St. Louis, MO – Commerce Bank has been recognized on Forbes’ America’s Best Banks 2021 list—one of the most respected lists in the industry—for the twelfth consecutive year.

Forbes’ list ranks the 100 largest publicly traded banks and thrifts based on their growth, credit quality and profitability. 2021 marks the 12th year that Forbes has measured the financial condition of the nation's largest banks, and Commerce has consistently ranked among the highest performing institutions for all twelve years.

“We are proud to be named among Forbes’ best banks in America, particularly on the heels of an unprecedented year which created a challenging operating environment for banks,” said John W. Kemper, President and Chief Executive Officer, Commerce Bancshares, Inc. “Despite the uncertain backdrop, Commerce has managed to thrive, providing support and advice for our customers, team members and communities when it matters most. This recognition is a testament to our commitment to excellence, the strength and dedication of our team and the deep relationships we share with our customers.”

This recognition is the latest in a series of awards for Commerce. Commerce has been included on a number of other Forbes lists such as World’s Best Banks, World’s Best Employers, America’s Best Mid-Size Employers, Missouri’s Best Employers and one of America’s Best Employers for Women.
