Commerce Bank Again Ranks High on the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index
ST. LOUIS – For the second consecutive year, Commerce Bank was recognized by the Human Rights Campaign’s (HRC) Corporate Equality Index (CEI), the nation’s foremost benchmarking survey and report measuring company policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality. Commerce earned a score of 90.
Commerce Bank strives to be an employer that provides team members every opportunity to bring their best selves to work and grow their career. “We know Commerce Bank is only at its best when our people are,” said Felecia Hogan, senior vice president, diversity, equity and inclusion. “That is why we are committed to holistically supporting our team members through competitive benefits; career development initiatives; diversity, equity and inclusion programming; robust training; and more. The CEI survey sets a high bar, and our ranking reflects how we’ve created a culture where LGBTQ+ team members can have a sense of belonging at Commerce,” she continued.
Nearly 1,300 major U.S. businesses actively participated in the 20th annual CEI survey. The 2022 CEI criteria fall under four central pillars: non-discrimination policies across business entities; equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ workers and their families; supporting an inclusive culture; and corporate social responsibility.
“When the Human Rights Campaign Foundation created the Corporate Equality Index 20 years ago, we dreamed that LGBTQ+ workers—from the factory floor to corporate headquarters, in big cities and small towns—could have access to the policies and benefits needed to thrive and live life authentically,” said Jay Brown, Human Rights Campaign senior vice president of programs, research and training. “We are proud that the Corporate Equality Index paved the way to that reality for countless LGBTQ+ workers in America and abroad,” he shared.
