Commerce Bank promotes Craig Higginbotham to lead expanding construction division
KANSAS CITY, Mo.— Craig Higginbotham, a Commerce Bank executive with deep experience in commercial payment solutions, has been promoted to Vice President – National Sales Manager for the bank’s burgeoning construction division. He brings 15 years of banking and payment card experience to his new leadership role within CommercePayments®.
Higginbotham had served as the Midwest leader of Commerce’s Commercial Card sales team focusing on commercial payments within the bank’s footprint.
The past few years have brought to light many challenges for the construction industry as a whole. A shortage of qualified workers, supply chain issues and inflation have prompted a number of construction companies to take a hard look at their back-office processes. Many have turned to Commerce for help. Commerce’s construction commercial payments division provides multiple solutions to help construction companies increase profitability, improve visibility into payments, reduce fraud risks and decrease overall costs.
“Craig has a tremendous amount of knowledge and understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the construction industry,” said John Molnar, Commerce Senior Vice President, Sales Director in Commercial Card. “He is fiercely dedicated to providing solutions to help construction companies improve their profitability and meet their immediate and long-term business goals.”
Commerce Bank has helped construction customers automate their payables process for nearly 20 years. Higginbotham says “the CommercePayments® team develops and executes a unique payment strategy for each construction client.”
“Construction CFOs appreciate our supplier analytics, which highlight our experience in payments and construction,” said Higginbotham. “Those facilitating outbound payments in the construction industry soon realize our service model far exceeds anything they’ve experienced. I truly enjoy the journey of taking construction companies to the next level of their business.”
