Commerce Bank Taps Innovation and Entrepreneurial Leader to Manage fintech Partnerships
Kansas City, Mo. – Commerce Bank is pleased to announce the addition of an experienced leader in business acceleration to guide the discovery, curation and engagement of fintech partnerships across the CommercePayments® ecosystem. Doug Dresslaer, who has spent the past decade managing national-level business accelerator programs, is the new senior fintech partnerships manager for Commerce.
Dresslaer has a keen eye for identifying opportunities for sustainable, long-term innovation. In his new role with Commerce, he will establish partnerships with fintech companies to deliver innovative digital services to Commerce’s commercial customers.
“With Doug’s background in startup acceleration, we knew he would hit the ground running,” said Chris Wiedenmann, senior vice president, product management with CommercePayments®. “Doug is already building relationships and identifying opportunities to help us provide even more value to our customers. We are excited for the role he will play in building effective partnerships with fintechs to serve our customers’ evolving needs.”
Commerce business customers enjoy access to full-scale automation tools to streamline payables and receivables processes, based on commercial customers’ unique needs. Those tools help manage cash flow, decrease processing costs, reduce the risk of fraud and simplify account reconciliation.
“It is incredibly rewarding to match companies based on specialty, synergies and cultures, and watch them make magic,” said Dresslaer. “I am already gathering input from my new colleagues and look forward to establishing fintech partnerships to further Commerce’s ongoing journey of innovation and customer solutions.”
Over the past decade, Dresslaer managed the former Sprint accelerator, helping startup companies to grow their businesses and create long-term relationships between large corporations and startups. He most recently served as director of cultural innovation for the Dairy Farmers of America.
