Commerce Bank to start construction on a new Kirkwood banking center

St. Louis, MO– Commerce Bank will build a new, modern banking center in Kirkwood to better meet the changing needs of customers. As more customers turn to digital banking services, Commerce saw an opportunity to rethink the banking center layout and allow for future development in downtown Kirkwood.

Customers who visit the nearly 14,000 square foot banking center at 300 North Kirkwood will soon have access to a modern branch in the northwest corner of the same block with the same services in a more efficiently designed space. The new banking center will be about 3,000 square feet and have additional private consultation areas to meet customer requests for personal advice and guidance.

“We have grown with Kirkwood for more than 40 years and we are excited about our plans in the area,” said Darryl Collins, Commerce Bank’s Regional Retail Banking Director. “Our new space will offer the same great services as our current location and is evolving with downtown Kirkwood’s pedestrian-friendly design. This investment in Kirkwood is part of Commerce Bank’s commitment to the St. Louis region and follows other banking center enhancements at Vandeventer, Met Square, Natural Bridge, Clayton, Commerce Bank Connect® in the Central West End, and Ladue as well as Commerce Bank Tower, the 10-story office building under development in Clayton,” Darryl added.

Construction will begin in Spring 2022 with a plan to complete it in December. The current branch will remain open until the new one is complete, so customers have uninterrupted access throughout the construction period.
