KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Jessica Morrison, senior commercial banking relationship manager, has been selected as a 2022 Houston Business Journal (HBJ) Women Who Mean Business honoree. The HBJ Women Who Mean Business Awards recognize women leaders who have demonstrated excellence in their careers and community. The awards honor women across 12 industry categories plus the Woman to Watch category. Morrison was listed among the Outstanding Business Leaders in Finance.

The awards are based on career achievement, contribution to company and city success, community involvement, and leadership. Honorees will be recognized in a special section of the HBJ and during an in-person awards luncheon on October 20 in Houston.

Morrison has worked in the financial industry for more than 10 years and has been in a leadership role for the past five years. She’s worked at Commerce Bank since late 2019 and targets mid-size commercial businesses, with revenues in the range of $50 million to $1 billion. In addition to serving her clients, Morrison’s responsibilities include the recruitment of top talent to Commerce Bank, as well as increase brand awareness of Commerce within the Houston market.

“Jessica Morrison is a force of nature,” said Sebastien Solar, Houston market president. “Her high intellect, high energy and deep Houston ties make her one of the most influential women in Houston commercial banking and has earned her a spot among the savviest businesswomen in the city.”

When she is not in the boardroom, Morrison can be found leading local indoor cycling classes, mentoring the next generation of business leaders and raising funds for pediatric cancer through her board involvement with Sky High for Kids. In the past she’s served on the board for the Women’s Finance Exchange, Houston Banker’s Classic and Baylor University Women’s Council. She’s also fundraised for the Michael J. Fox Foundation and Alzheimer’s Association.
