St. Louis, MO – Bob Holmes, chairman and chief executive officer, Commerce Bank – St. Louis was named among the Most Admired Business Leaders by St. Louis Small Business Monthly. Holmes is one of five leaders to be recognized by the publication this year.

St. Louis Small Business Monthly knows that “business isn’t all about numbers and spreadsheets” so the awards highlight local leaders who give financial support and their time to create a better community. Honorees are nominated by their peers.

Holmes is humbled by the recognition, saying “I am proud to be part of a team dedicated to supporting small businesses and doing all that we can to create an equitable and diverse workplace. It’s at the heart of how we’re building strong communities.”

He demonstrated his commitment as an early champion of a project to donate a former Commerce Bank branch at 4401 Natural Bridge to the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis. The historic building will be transformed into the Entrepreneurship and Women’s Business Center. It will provide technical assistance, strategic planning, customized workshops, access to funding and other support for business owners whether they are just starting out or seeking to expand.

The Most Admired Business Leaders are profiled in the January 2023 issue of St. Louis Small Business Monthly. Click here for Holmes’ profile.
