Commerce Bank earns high score for third time on Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index

ST. LOUIS – For the third consecutive year, Commerce Bank was recognized by the Human Rights Campaign’s (HRC) Corporate Equality Index (CEI) with a score of 90 out of 100. The CEI is the nation’s foremost benchmarking survey and report that measures company policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality.

This year, HRC implemented a new and more robust CEI survey for employers nationwide. Over 1,300 companies actively participated in the survey this year. The four key pillars used for the current CEI ratings included nondiscrimination policies across business entities, equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ workers and their families, supporting an inclusive culture and corporate social responsibility.

“For well over two decades, businesses have played an important role in furthering LGBTQ+ equality by centering employee needs and voices when it comes to workplace inclusion.” said RaShawn “Shawnie” Hawkins, Human Rights Campaign Senior Director of Workplace Equality.

“Commerce Bank is intentional about building a culture that puts people first,” says Felecia Hogan, senior vice president and director of diversity, equity and inclusion. “We know when you’re valued and supported, you can be at your best. And when you’re at your best, you do your best work. Receiving a top CEI score affirms our efforts to make Commerce a place where LGBTQ+ team members can feel supported, be their authentic selves and have a sense of belonging.”
