Commerce Bank recognized as one of America’s Best Regional Banks by Newsweek

ST. LOUIS – Commerce Bank was recently named to Newsweek’s inaugural America’s Best Regional Banks and Credit Unions 2024 list and scored a 4.5-star rating on a 5-star scale. Newsweek and data firm Plant-A Insights Group analyzed approximately 9,440 institutions, surveyed over 35,000 customers and collected more than 149 million online reviews to rank the top 250 regional banks and 250 credit unions in the United States.

Additional parameters used in the ranking covered various aspects including profitability, financial relevance, risk exposures to financial uncertainties and overall health and stability of the financial institution. “Regional banks and credit unions play a pivotal role in the financial fabric of communities nationwide,” according to Newsweek. The publication recognizes that, “these institutions are deeply rooted in local economies, understanding the unique needs of the people they serve.”

“We are honored to be named by Newsweek as one of the best regional banks in the country, and it’s particularly meaningful given the challenges faced by the banking industry over the past year,” said John Kemper, president and chief executive officer, Commerce Bancshares, Inc. “This recognition reflects our commitment to the communities we serve, the strength and dedication of the Commerce team, and the deep relationships we share with our customers.
