WICHITA, Kan. – Commerce Bank is announcing updates to the structure of its leadership team in Kansas.

Responsible for aligning and leading Commerce’s teams across Kansas, he brings 28 years of banking experience to the role with 20 years at Commerce Bank, where he most recently led the commercial banking team in Wichita.

Duerksen’s position was previously held by Monte Cook, who has transitioned to chairman, Commerce Bank – Kansas.

“Monte has been a great leader and I am honored to assume this role and work more closely with our outstanding teams across the state,” Duerksen said. “I am excited for the opportunity to deepen relationships and help our personal and business banking customers across the region focus on what matters most.”

These moves further support Commerce Bank’s investment in Kansas as well as its commitment to providing best-in-class customer service.

“Both Craig and Todd exemplify strong leadership competencies, and these promotions are recognition of those skills and their numerous accomplishments,” Cook said. “They are well-seasoned bankers, and these roles will afford them more time to lead our strategic growth plans and to be out in the community and throughout the region.
