St. Louis, MO — Tavia Henderson, CONNECT banking lead, Commerce Bank, was recently selected as one of 20 young professionals recognized by The St. Louis American Foundation’s 2024 Salute to Young Leaders awards.

The St. Louis American Foundation is the non-profit arm of The St. Louis American newspaper, and the annual Salute to Young Leaders award highlights outstanding African American professionals under the age of 40 for their career achievements and community services. Henderson joined Commerce Bank seven years ago, and her pivotal volunteer efforts with St. Louis’ Nine Network, or Nine PBS, began a year later.

Bob Holmes, chairman and CEO, Commerce Bank, St. Louis, affirmed this recognition and stated, “Tavia is an integral member of Commerce Bank, excelling in her daily role as the CONNECT banking lead, in addition to being a project manager of our multicultural VIBE ERG, all while making a community impact through her philanthropic efforts.”

“I am honored to receive this monumental recognition, highlighting the time I’ve dedicated to my community and my contributions with Commerce Bank,” Henderson explained. “The value Commerce places on giving back to our communities has enabled me to excel beyond my role and was a true contributing factor to this recognition. Our strong culture has encouraged me to pursue my passion for helping others both personally and professionally.”
