Commerce Bank named one of America’s Best Regional Banks by Newsweek for second year
St. Louis, MO - Commerce Bank recently earned a spot on Newsweek’s 2025 list of America’s Best Regional Banks and Credit Unions for the second consecutive year and received a 4-star rating on a 5-star scale. Newsweek and data firm Plant-A Insights Group analyzed more than 9,170 institutions, surveyed over 71,000 U.S. residents, gathered over 845,000 reviews, and collected more than 1.9 million social media reviews to rank the top 500 regional banks and 500 credit unions in the United States.
Additional parameters used in the ranking included various aspects such as profitability, financial relevance, risk exposure to financial uncertainties, and the general health and stability of each financial institution. According to Newsweek, “Regional banks and credit unions are the financial backbone of communities nationwide.” The publication continues stating, “With intimate knowledge of local economies, these banks often form strong bonds with customers, enabling them to better meet their needs.”
