This bank does NOT have the small business owners back at all

I started my own business in 2017 and by the end of 2018 I had maxed out most of my credit limits but was managing the money appropriately, making all my payments and digging myself out of that hole that sometimes starting a new business can put you in. That caused for a drop in my credit score even though I wasn’t missing any payments to folks like commerce bank. I was using commerce Bank credit to make payments and again, was managing the funds and making all of my payments on time when suddenly commerce bank decided to reduce my credit limit on my card by EVERY DIME of available credit. I am a firm believer that companies themselves do not have malicious intent, but that sure felt like it! I suddenly had no operating credit to handle my month to month expenses and month-to-month bills were bouncing left and right. I managed to handle it all but I reached out to Commerce and ask them why they reduced my $12,000 credit limit all the way down to $8000 that month and they simply replied “ your score is lower“. They proceeded to do The same thing every month with every $1000 payment I made until my balance (and limit) were around 4K. This was crippling to my small business and was not the agreement we made when I got a credit card with a $12,000 limit and made every payment to you on time or within the grace period. So thank you for asking, but I am not at all happy with your service, your score is definitely lower and I will take that into account in the future. As I told the lovely lady on the phone who told me it wasn’t her problem, I will make sure everyone whoever asks me knows that they should not rely on commerce Bank to support their small business. When that small business trips, commerce takes the opportunity and cuts them off at the knees

Pretty standard card

Asking for a review of a pretty normal credit card seems awkward. The card is okay. Not super great rewards but some rewards none the less. It is quite difficult to redeem points earned. I kind of gave up on it.

Great card

Commerce Bank is a great choice for your everyday card. Compatible to all of the big Banks. Not as competitive on interest as some.

It's barely ok. I'm probably going to get rid of it soon. I can almost never use it anyway because at least half the time I try it makes the card reader malfunction, and I just have to use my debit card. My limit is also so low and hasn't been raised in so long I have to pay off my card multiple times a month just to keep using it. It's practically useless, and it's definitely a huge inconvenience.

Due to a recent scam event involving my Commerce Bank credit card, I learned that extreme use of my credit card does not get reviewed & is not questioned. I think it would be good for Commerce Bank to set up a policy whereby the cardholder & Commerce Bank would agree to what an excessive amount/day for that cardholder would be and if exceeded, notified by Commerce Bank to verify that purchase!
