Holds on payments
First time in having the card in 5+ years and I had a return payment. I use my card for daily expenses and pay it off every month. My checking is with another financial institution. Made a payment but there was some confusion with my checking account. First time ever. And the payment got returned from credit card. Once I realized what happened I corrected my checking account and made another payment. The next day I verified the money cleared my checking and showed applied to this credit card. However, my card was still getting declined. I called and spoke with a supervisor named Tom in customer service who told me a 10-day hold was placed on the payment! I’ve never heard of this before. And he told me there is no one at the bank that could release the hold to make an exception even though this is the first time this has happened. And there is record of my consistent monthly on time payments. This is the exact reason I will never bring my money over to Commerce Bank. They just don’t care.
