New charges, low rewards

Commerce changed my long-held account terms unilaterally and began adding monthly charges, just before the pandemic hit. I wrote to customer service about my disappointment and did not get any help. You started charging me a few dollars here and there, even though I'd been a loyal Mastercard user for years and years. You guys have made a TON of money off of me over the 20 years I've held this card and used it prolifically. But that wasn't enough for you. You had to add more charges. AND-- you never did give me a single credit report. I wrote multiple times about this, and got nothing in return except the lame excuse that this card was on a joint account (with my wife of 25 years) so you couldn't give me a credit report. That's just poor customer service on your part. So- I told you what I was going to do, and then I did it. I told you that if you were going to keep charging me as a Commerce Bank customer for not making enough debit transactions or not having direct deposit, then I wasn't going to keep letting YOU get the benefit of me using my Mastercard. So I stopped using it. I got a Chase Bank Southwest Airlines rewards card. They've given me a ton of bonuses, and are phenomenal at customer support. They have a credit report online attached to my account that I can look at as often as I like. I haven't charged a dime to my Commerce Mastercard in months. How is that working out for your bottom line? Does that make you happy? You did nothing to make me happy, So I'll keep my card. Maybe I'll use it once in a while. But when my two teenagers both wanted to get their own accounts this summer to learn about banking, saving, and checking accounts, I took them straight to Bank of America. I didn't want them to get nickeled and dimed to death by Commerce Bank. So now my daughter is off to college with a Bank of America account, and my younger son is working hard and putting his money in Bank of America. Because dear old dad here didn't want them to experience the frustrations and disappointments of poor customer service and lack of personal care and concern from Commerce. Ya'll have gotten good at disappointing me.
